Natriumlaurylsulfaat is een surfactant met gelijkaardig eigenschappen als natriumlaurylethersulfaat. NaLES zou beter verdragen worden door de huid.
Volgende informatie uit Martindale:
“Sodium laurilsulfate is an alkyl sulfate anionic surfactant. It is a detergent and wetting agent, effective in both acid and alkaline solution and in hard water. It is used in medicated shampoos, as a skin cleanser, and in toothpastes, and in the preparation of Emulsifying Wax. It is also used as a tablet lubricant.
Alkyl ether sulfates such as sodium lauril ether sulfate (sodium laureth sulfate) and ammonium lauril ether sulfate (ammonium laureth sulfate), are ethoxylated derivatives and are used similarly. Sodium lauril sulfoacetate, which contains a sulfonate rather than a sulfate group, and sodium lauril ether sulfosuccinate (disodium laureth sulfosuccinate), an ethoxylated sulfonate, are also used.”
