Volgens het naslagwerk “Memento Galenische Farmacie” is Eumulgin C1000 hetzelfde als cetomacrogol 1000.
Cetomacrogol 1000 is een macrogolether, meer specifiek PEG-(1000)monocetylether (polyoxyethyleenethers van vetalcoholen). 1000 staat voor de gemiddelde moleculaire massa. Dit is een O/W-emulgator.
