Vaseline van Fagron heeft een farmaceutische kwaliteit, dewelke hoger is dan food kwaliteit. Als food kwaliteit geschikt is voor het reinigen van apparatuur, dan zal farmaceutische kwaliteit hier ook goed voor zijn. Let op: standaard is vaseline (zowel food als farmaceutisch) niet voor inwendig gebruik bedoeld.

De witte vaseline van Fagron voldoet aan de kwaliteitsvereisten beschreven in de Ph.Eur. Hieronder kunt u de omschrijving zoals beschreven in de Martindale terugvinden:
“Ph. Eur. 9 (Paraffin, White Soft). Purified and wholly or nearly decolorised mixture of semi-solid hydrocarbons, obtained from petroleum. It may contain a suitable antoxidant. It is not suitable for oral use. A white or almost white, translucent, soft unctuous mass, slightly fluorescent in daylight when melted. Drop point 35 degrees to 70 degrees. Practically insoluble in water, in alcohol, and in glycerol; slightly soluble in dichloromethane. Protect from light.”
